The Last of Us, a highly acclaimed title for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, is known for its impressive scope and graphics that would be difficult to replicate on mobile devices. However, a unique adaptation of the game has been developed for Android, taking up a mere 120 megabytes. This adaptation aims to incorporate some of the game's elements onto the mobile platform.
The controls in The Last of Us for Android are remarkably intuitive. The left side of the screen features a virtual movement stick to control the protagonist, Joel, while the right side contains action buttons for crouching, shooting, aiming, reloading, and changing weapons. Joel's partner, Tess, accompanies him throughout the game, but the player does not have control over her actions.
This version of the game serves as a mere sample, allowing players to explore a deserted setting reminiscent of the urban scenes found in The Last of Us. Players encounter 'clickers,' the game's enemies, who appear in a specific area and attempt to attack Joel. Fortunately, players have access to both a handgun and a rocket launcher for self-defense.
While The Last of Us for Android does not provide an experience comparable to the original title, it does offer impressive graphics for a mobile game as well as a well-designed control system. Additionally, it raises the question of whether it would be possible to bring such a massive game to the Android platform.
